Crystal Cooper, PhD, IBCLC, is a lactation consultant and a medical anthropologist in private practice in Chicago. She conducted ethnographic research in Hawaii that shed light on how breastfeeding is learned by moms and babies, and how that impacts women's experiences. Based on her findings, she uses culturally informed and embodiment focused methodologies in her practice for greater breastfeeding/chestfeeding success.
