Speaker Bio
Melissa Mancini completed her Bachelor's degree in psychology at UCLA in 2009 and then went onto nursing school to become a Registered Nurse in 2012. After working in medical/surgical nursing, she gave birth to her own son and struggled with breastfeeding. After navigating a complex healthcare landscape, she knew she needed to become involved in women’s health. She became a childbirth educator and taught for a hospital system, while pursuing her IBCLC. Upon completion of her IBCLC in 2019, she launched her private practice. When the pandemic began, she decided to go back to school to obtain her Masters in Nursing and become a Certified Nurse Midwife.

She currently works part time as a Certified Nurse Midwife for an OBGYN, and she continues to operate her private practice providing breastfeeding support. Her philosophy centers on supporting families with their own breastfeeding goals while collaborating with other providers to ensure the needs of the whole person are met. She feels grateful for the ability to provide evidence-based care to women throughout their lifespan.
